Love Sanibel initiative to end with community gathering
Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church will host a Love Sanibel Community Gathering on Sept. 28 from noon to 3 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
A culmination of its Love Sanibel Businesses Back initiative, the event aims to recognize the love for each other and the island that has seen the community through the last two years post-hurricane.
It will feature live music, including The Sanibel School Steel Drum Band and Elementary Choir and other performers, food, ice cream, children’s activities, Sanibel-themed activities, displays by nonprofit organizations. At 1 p.m., there will be a short program including remarks by Mayor Richard Johnson and a video storytelling segment featuring islanders sharing what they love about Sanibel.
The church extended its thanks to TCH, city of Sanibel, The Island Store and Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream for partnering with it to provide the free event for the island community.
