Channel dredging to begin at Shell Harbor
The city of Sanibel reported that dredging will begin on the entrance channel to the Shell Harbor subdivision on July 11. The channel will remain open for use, however, there may be short periods of time when boat traffic will need to be stopped.
The work will take a few weeks to complete.
Boaters are advised to be alert and aware of the construction operations taking place. Please proceed slowly and cautiously through the area while the dredging operations are underway.
In addition, the back section of the Sanibel Boat Ramp parking lot will be closed during the project. Boat trailer parking spaces will not be impacted.
