Bank of the Islands hosted an Evening of Appreciation on April 9 at its Sanibel office to celebrate island non-profit organizations and community leaders. Officials announced that the bank has donated over $400,000 since Hurricane Ian in 2022. In recognition of its We Love Our Islands program passing the $100,000 giving milestone, the bank presented 34 entities each with a $1,000 gift. They were the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum & Aquarium, Bat Yam Temple of the Islands, BIG ARTS, Captiva Civic Association, Captiva Community Panel, Captiva Island Historical Society, Chapel by the Sea, Charitable Foundation of the Islands, Children’s Education Center of the Islands, city of Sanibel, Community Housing & Resources, Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge, F.I.S.H. of Sanibel Captiva, Saint Isabel Catholic Church, Saint Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church, SanCap Chamber of Commerce, Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association, Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club, Sanibel-Captiva Lions Club, Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club, Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club, Sanibel Community Association, Sanibel Community Church, Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, Sanibel Fire and Rescue District, Sanibel Historical Museum and Village, Sanibel Public Library, Sanibel School Fund, Sanibel Sea School, The Sanibel School, United Way of Sanibel-Captiva and Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva. Officials also announced that program contributions will be doubled.
