The city of Sanibel announced road closures for F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva’s 15th Annual F.I.S.H. 10K/5K on Dec. 2, as well as reminded motorists about lane closures on the Sanibel Causeway.

Due to the race, the following roads will be closed at the times listed:

– Tarpon Bay Road to West Gulf Drive from 7 to 10:30 a.m.

– Eastbound and westbound Periwinkle Way from The Community House to Tarpon Bay Road from 7 to 9:15 a.m.

– Southbound Casa Ybel Road from Periwinkle Way to Tarpon Bay Road from 7 to 10:30 a.m.

The city noted that the listed times are approximate and depend on the length of time for runners/walkers to clear the area.

In addition, it advised motorists to be alert for pedestrians in the areas and to carefully follow law enforcement’s instruction and event traffic signage. Motorists can expect delays, so they should plan their travel accordingly.

For information or questions, contact the Sanibel Police Department at 239-472-3111.

Also, the city reminded the public about the weekend land closures resuming on the causeway.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the causeway will be limited to one lane beginning today, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. through Dec. 4 at 6 a.m. for crews to construct bridge approaches.

The city advised those traveling across the causeway for the race to plan for extra travel time.
