Junonias found on Sanibel
Eric Mayhew and Ashley Wood, of Hyattsville, Maryland, each found a junonia near the Island Inn on Sanibel. Wood reported that her husband found his shell on Oct. 16 and she found her shell on Oct. 19. Married at Casa Ybel in October of 2018, they were back on Sanibel celebrating their anniversary. “We are grateful to be back on the island where we were married five years ago and absolutely ecstatic that we both found a junonia!” she said. The couple have been visiting for 10 years and love shelling. “We are just so happy to be back and happy to support the island in any capacity that we can,” Wood added.
