SPD: Heavy traffic and delays on causeway
At about 10:30 a.m. today, Sept. 29, the Sanibel Police Department reported that traffic on the Sanibel Causeway is being affected by the Florida Department of Transportation’s restoration operations.
As a result, heavy traffic and delays are expected on the causeway.
Police Chief Bill Dalton urges everyone to “be patient.”
“Our number one priority is safety,” he said. “Please follow the direction of law enforcement personnel and, to reduce congestion and delays, consider avoiding this area if possible.”
