Shell club’s annual show to feature exhibitors, displays

The Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club announced that the annual Sanibel Shell Show will take place on March 8-9 at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort, at 17260 Harbour Pointe Drive, Fort Myers.
The event will feature the juried show with scientific and artistic shell displays, marine and shell vendors, and a live mollusk display. The show will include exhibitors and vendors from around the world. In addition, this year’s new venue will offer amenities, including free parking and no tolls.
Also this year, there will be two events going on at two locations for shell enthusiasts to enjoy.
On March 7-9, The Community House will hold the 87th Sanibel Historical Annual Shell Festival at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The event will feature arts and crafts vendors to browse and shop.
The club encouraged the public to attend both events for twice the fun.
The Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club awards grants from the proceeds of its show. The grants are given toward education and research in the fields of conchology and malacology, as well as for conservation and water quality projects, primarily in Southwest Florida.
