Six ducks from Missouri land at refuge

REFUGE/DDWS
The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge reported that six mounted ducks recently came to roost at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge for use in teaching schools about the National Junior Duck Stamp program with lifelike models. Leta and Art Genasci donated the ducks and transported them from Missouri. They were presented to Supervisory Refuge Ranger Toni Westland, who has been involved in Florida’s Junior Duck Stamp Contest for more than 20 years. “These will go into rotation to classes for the Junior Duck Stamp contest,” she said. “Teachers love having real ducks for their students to draw.”
