Volunteers invited to take part in monthly cleanups
Years ago, the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club adopted the stretch of road leading up to the Sanibel Causeway toll booths through the Lee County Adopt a Road program. On the third Saturday of every month, club members pick up trash and debris — in an effort known as “Road Kill” — to maintain a clean roadway to the entrance to the islands. Volunteers are always welcome. Meet at 8 a.m. in the Carlton-Naumann parking lot on the Fort Myers side of the causeway. Lee County provides trash bags and pickup sticks. For more information, contact event coordinator and Rotarian Darrin Grotrian at dpgrotrian@gmail.com or club Secretary Chet Sadler at chet@sanibelrotary.org or 239-472-7257.
