Captiva library, county system offer programs
The Captiva Memorial Library, at 11560 Chapin Lane, Captiva, is offering the following free programming:
CHILDREN PROGRAMS
– Aug. 10-13: Puppy Dog Pal
(daily during operating hours; while supplies last)
Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer and make your very own puppy dog pal.
– Aug. 16-31: See you later, Alligator
(daily during operating hours; while supplies last)
Make your own craft stick alligator and check out our collection of books about Florida wildlife.
The library is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about a program or to register, call the library at 239-533-4890.

In addition, the Lee County Library System is offering the following free virtual programs:
ADULT PROGRAMS
– Aug. 15: Online Meditation Mondays at 11 a.m.
The guided program will provide visual instructions to help keep participants focused and meditating. Advance registration required.
– Aug. 17: Online Writer’s Workshop at 2 p.m.
A writer’s workshop creates a community of writers and keeps individuals in the habit of consistently writing. A writing prompt will be given and each writer will have 20 minutes to write, then the group offers their piece for constructive criticism. Advance registration required.
