Refuge to celebrate Great American Outdoors Day

Visit the Sanibel refuge's Wildlife on Wheels for free on Aug. 4 for Great American Outdoors Day.
The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge reported that Aug. 4 will mark the second celebration of Great American Outdoors Day across federal lands. It is now one of six fee-free days the government has designated throughout the year. Besides touring the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge’s Wildlife Drive for free that day, visitors can also visit the Wildlife on Wheels mobile classroom, participate in a free family scavenger hunt for prizes, and take part in guided tours. The refuge is at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel.
