JACQUELINE ROCH

The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge reported that J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife 2022-23 Artist in Residence Jacqueline “Jacqui” Roch will make her first in-residence visits now through July 21.

During that time, she will do various appearances on and off the refuge. The public can catch her on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon in the Visitor & Education Center classroom, where she will create and chat with visitors. For additional information on Painting on the Porch activities, visit DingDarling.Eventbrite.com. Attendance is limited for the programs; advance registration required.

Born in California and raised on Miami Beach, Roch terms her style “tropical realism.” She said her greatest local inspiration has been the Everglades and Big Cypress National Preserve, where she spends much of her time painting plein air. Roch has recently found inspiration, too, at the Sanibel refuge.
