‘Foundations of Faith Community Nursing’ course available
Are you a nurse who is interested in learning more about how to care for the spiritual needs of patients? The Faith Community Nursing course will educate you on how to provide holistic health services that address the needs of the mind, body and spirit.
Lee Health’s “Foundations of Faith Community Nursing” is an evidence-based program designed to bridge two disciplines, nursing and ministry. The course is not limited to Lee Health nurses; it is open to any registered nurse with an active nursing license.
The course will be held on Aug. 5-7 and Aug. 12-14 at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church, at 5011 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.
“This was such a meaningful course for me. I took it more than 20 years ago and, since then, have been the nurse to call when you need a resource in my faith community,” Nancy Roberts, parish nurse with Lee Health’s Spiritual Services Department, said. “Faith community nursing allows me to wield my passion for helping people understand what is troubling them, listen to their needs and offer compassion, knowledge and prayer.”
The program counts as 36 contact hours accredited through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and costs $425. The cost of the course covers program materials, a certificate, pin and daily lunches.
The deadline for registration is July 21.
