St. Michael and All Angels to kick off Messy Church
St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church will launch Messy Church, a new way of worship, fellowship and a shared meal, on April 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. with the theme “Messy Easter.”
Intergenerational and particularly suited to families, Messy Church is interactive and experiential. Starting in April and scheduled for the second Sunday of each month, the events will involve a warm welcome, themed activity stations that all ages visit to engage in crafts, activities and games, brief celebration time and dinner eaten together. Youths are asked to bring them favorite adult with them.
“Messy Church is not just an activity a church hosts, it is a philosophy of what the church should be,” coordinator Sue Van Oss said. “We want every person, no matter their age or situation in life to know that they are beloved by God.”
The event are free and open to the public; no registration is necessary.
