SCBWA to hold monthly luncheon
The Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association will host its monthly luncheon on April 19 at noon at the Blue Giraffe 2 at Beachview Estates, at 1100 Par View Drive, Sanibel.
The guest speaker will be Sanibel Mayor Holly Smith. She will discuss women in leadership, particularly in the areas of being a businesswoman, a wife and mother, and holding various leadership positions, particularly in the local government arena.
“When I was an intern with the city of Sanibel in the city manager’s office, I found Mayor Smith to be an advocate in empowering young women in roles of leadership, whether community, business or governmental positions,” SCBWA Board Member Maureen McGauran said. “She is someone that I look up to.”
