Ocean Tribe Paddling Club to host excursion
The Ocean Tribe Paddling Club will host an excursion on March 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. to Picnic Island, an island in the San Carlos Bay; meet on Causeway Island A — closest to the toll booth — at 8:45 a.m.
Start from Causeway Island A and paddle to the destination, allowing time to explore before making the trek back to the launch point. The waters around Picnic Island are home to many critters, such as bonnethead sharks, southern stingrays and manatees.
Participants can bring their own vessel. Club members can reserve a loaner vessel in advance by contacting OTP@sccf.org. For more membership information, visit https://oceantribeoutfitters.org/.
