Sanibel Island Fishing Club to meet

The Sanibel Island Fishing Club will hold its monthly meeting on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, with a half-hour social to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The featured speaker will be Florida Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officer Wesley Furbay, who has been with the agency since 2013. He will hand out the current FWC fishing regulations and discuss the recent closures of red grouper and lane snapper.
Following the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session where attendees can ask about the various regulations, limits and the forthcoming limited special season for goliath grouper.
The meeting is free and open to the public; masks are required within the facility.
Refreshments will be available for a nominal charge.
