Junonia found on Sanibel
Audrey Hritz, of Englewood, Colorado, found a junonia on Nov. 14 in the early morning hours along the shoreline of the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel. She was walking with her mother, Susan Hritz. Hritz reported she and her family have been regular visitors to the island for over 20 years. She noted that the shell is a fine specimen in very good condition and measures nearly 4 inches long. Calling the junonia a special find, she added that it now has a new home in Colorado.
