F.I.S.H., center to host memory impairment workshop

F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva and The Dubin Center will hold a memory impairment workshop, “When We Begin To Forget,” on Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. both virtually via Zoom and in-person at The Community House on Sanibel.
Dementia Resource Navigator Jan Golembiski, with The Dubin Center, will provide a general overview of memory impairment. For over 20 years, she has been a geriatrics social worker. Graduating from Stockton University, Golembiski soon found her place at a small nursing home in New Jersey. There, she fell in love with the residents in dementia care and found herself at home. Golembiski managed The Richard Simon Foundation for Alzheimer’s in Atlantic County, New Jersey, helping hundreds of families care for their loved ones with dementia through education and counseling.
The in-person event will be limited to a maximum of 20 attendees. Out of an abundance of caution, attendees must wear a mask throughout the workshop and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Virtual attendees will receive Zoom instructions with their RSVP; registration is required.
