The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum announced that it recently added a female California two-spot octopus (Octopus bimaculoides) to its “Beyond Shells: Living Gallery.” Often referred to as simply the Bimac, or two-spot, the octopus gets its name from the two iridescent blue eye spots found under each real eye. For more information, visit www.shellmuseum.org or call 239-395-2233. The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum is at 3075 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel.
