Island restaurants to team up for Zimomra salute party

The “Friends of Judie” recently reported that numerous local chefs will join forces to entertain attendees at a community reception for now retired Sanibel City Manager Judie Zimomra.
A committee formed to honor her retirement, it is organizing the “open house” event for Dec. 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The event will give the public an opportunity to show its appreciation to Zimomra for her 20 years of service to the Sanibel community.
Refreshments will be served during a social hour, followed by a formal program honoring her.
The light menu will include appetizers from a range of eateries, giving attendees a chance to sample some island favorites. Participants signed up so far include 400 Rabbits, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, MudBugs Cajun Kitchen, Sanibel Cafe, Sanibel Catering Company by Bailey’s, Sanibel Community Association, Sanibel’s Best Homemade Ice Cream and Traders.
The “Friends of Judie” is made up of island businesses, service groups, non-profits and citizens.
Tickets to the event are not required; however for planning purposes, RSVPs are requested in advance by contacting The Community House at 239-472-2155 or office@sanibelcommunityhouse.net.
