The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village has a full schedule of events coming up this season.

There will be a special exhibit, “Trees, Timelines & Special Memories,” featuring holiday decorations and timelines outlining each building’s past, including interesting little-known facts. There will be a Luminary event for the community with free admission from 3 to 5 p.m.

In addition, the new pavilion will open in December, which will feature a timeline showing world events and Sanibel events, as well as historical photographs.

“The pavilion will be a wonderful place to gather our tour groups and can serve as a place for small group events,” Executive Director Emilie Alfino said.

Open to volunteers and donors at the $150 level and above, the following Volunteer Updates will be held: “The State of Our Village” on Jan. 10, “Our Buildings Have a Past” on Feb. 7, and “Growing Up on the Bay” on March 7. Each one will feature known island icons speaking about their experiences.

Also, the following Twilight Talks are planned at The Community House on Sanibel: “The History of Tarpon Bay” on March 15, and “God and Sanibel: The History of Religion on Sanibel” on April 5.

The season’s highlight is the Gala Movie Premiere on Feb. 22 at The Community House.

As events get closer, details will be available at www.sanibelmuseum.org.

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is at 950 Dunlop Road, Sanibel.
