Scouts set to kick off new year

Cub Scout Pack 1740 and Boy Scout Troop 1740 are gearing up for another year in scouting, starting with their first meeting on on Sept. 21. Highlights for this year’s events include camping trips and a climbing adventure at Tree Umph in Bradenton, as well as presentations from members of the community. Scout leaders extended their thanks to chartered organization Sanibel Community Church for its continued support. Open to K-5, the pack meets at the church on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Open to 6-12th grader, the troop meets on the first, second and third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. For more information, contact Kim Kouril at 239 233-4180 or kouril2013@gmail.com.
