Created 35 years ago, the Island Cotillion will resume its gatherings in December, after a year and a half of inactivity. Members gather three times a year for dinner and dancing to live music. Occasionally they have fun with some easy costuming. Initially, the group’s gatherings were held off-island, but as the years passed The Sanctuary Golf Club on Sanibel became the preferred location. The season’s first dinner-dance will be held on Dec. 9, with additional gatherings scheduled for Feb. 16 and April 26. Membership is limited to those with island connections and is by referral. Annual dues are $100. The Island Cotillion Steering Committee members include Julie and Corky Boyd, Bill and Judy Cheney, Maggie and James Davis, Jan and Pete Halliday, Gail and Phil Pilibosian, Laura and Shawn Shaffer, and Patsy and Hubie Whitaker. For more information about the group or joining, contact Julie Boyd at 239-395-0464 or Jan Halliday at 614-580-5663.
