The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, iHeartMedia and Cat Country 107.1 will present “Songs from the Sand” on Aug. 19 at 8 p.m., hosted by VCB Communications Manager Miriam Dotson.

Available via the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest Facebook page, Instagram and The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel’s YouTube channel, the virtual concert will feature acoustic music and conversation as Sheena Brook and Angie K tell their stories behind the songs at the Pinchers at The Marina at Edison Ford in Fort Myers.

A BMI singer-songwriter and Fort Myers Beach native, Brook captured the nation’s attention on NBC’s Season 12 of “The Voice.” Since appearing on the show, she has worked with multi-platinum songwriters and artists to further her creativity in her style as an artist and a songwriter. The Island Hopper alum is also the founder of The F.E.M. — Female Empowering Musicians — an organization that hosts events to allow the support of women and provides an outlet for their own creativity.

An El Salvador-born and Georgia-raised country artist, BMI singer-songwriter Angie K just released her new single, “Real Talk,” which has immediately been added to mega-playlists “Wild Country” and “New Boots” on Spotify, as well as “Breaking Country” on Apple Music. In 2017, her Disney duet with Jordan Fisher, “Happily Ever After,” became the soundtrack to the nightly fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. Angie K has opened for Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, Melissa Etheridge and more.

Songs from the Sand previews the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, set for Sept. 17-26 on Captiva, in historic downtown Fort Myers and on Fort Myers Beach. Songs from the Sand debuted in February and gives music lovers a chance to see Southwest Florida’s views. Songs from the Sofa debuted in 2020.
