Sanibel Recreation Center closed on Friday
The city of Sanibel reported that it was advised this evening of a Sanibel Recreation Center staffer who tested positive for COVID-19. The staffer was on duty on Aug. 25 from noon to 5 p.m.
The center will be closed on Aug. 27 for all programs and services, including the After-School Program, Youth Basketball, Power Sculpting and Cycling, while the facility is disinfected.
City staff are currently contact tracing all persons who were in the center on Aug. 25.
Officials reminded the public that the city requires face coverings in all city buildings, including the recreation center, and encourages vaccinations as well as the wearing of face coverings.
