Chavurat Shalom to hold High Holy Days programs

In preparation for the Jewish High Holy Days, Chavurat Shalom of Southwest Florida (Fellowship of Peace) members Drs. David Berger and Kathy Zoss will sound the Shofar before Shabbat services every Friday during the month preceding the start of the High Holy Days on Sept. 6.

The following programs are planned via Zoom for the High Holy Days:

– Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.: Apples and Honey Schmooze

– Sept. 9 at 11 a.m.: Chief Engagement Officer of Hebrew Union College — Jewish Institute of Religion Rabbi Elliott Kleinman will speak about the meaning of the Yom Kippur prayer, Unah Taneh Tokef

– Sept. 12 at 11 a.m.: Special Memorial service

– Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Break-the-Fast

In addition, Myra Klahr has produced a booklet of six of her poems.
