SHELL MUSEUM WELCOMES NEW STAFFER
Shell museum welcomes new staffer
The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum reported that Margery Vizza recently joined the team as a development and marketing assistant.
With a strong background in customer service and marketing, she is excited to help promote the educational mission of the museum and connect with its members.
Previously having worked for a home decor brand in a small Pennsylvania town, Vizza is happy to be joining another tight-knit community like Sanibel.
ARENSMAN JOINS JOHN R. WOOD PROPERTIES
John R. Wood Properties recently announced that Andre Arensman has joined its team.
An island Realtor since 2005, he and his family moved to Sanibel from Massachusetts. Over the years, Arensman has become extremely knowledgeable about real estate on both Sanibel and Captiva.
He originates from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where he studied business at the Erasmus University. Arensman moved to the United States in 1993 after meeting his future wife.
Apart from Massachusetts, he also lived in Chicago, Illinois, and took some graduate school courses at Michigan State University. His native language is Dutch, but he is fluent in European culture.
SCBR RESTAURANTS EARN TRAVELERS’ CHOICE AWARD
Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts announced that three of its flagship restaurants have received 2021 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, signifying a top 10 percent approval rating in the world.
They are the Old Captiva House and Crow’s Nest Bar & Grille at the ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa on Captiva, along with the Normandie Seaside Cafe at the West Wind Island Resort on Sanibel.
“We’re delighted with the awards and the outstanding efforts these positive reviews represent — in quality cuisine, exceptional customer service and outstanding guest experiences,” SCBR Director of Food and Beverage Laurent Bosc said. “We thank the many, many guests this past year who applauded our efforts to be the best on Sanibel and Captiva Islands with their reviews and comments.”
Greg Nelson, executive chef for SCBR dining outlets and food service, added that “our corporation strives to deliver only the best in our ingredients, preparation, presentation and customer satisfaction. This is a top-down commitment to fulfill our corporate mission: to deliver a warm, friendly and memorable island resort experience that provides value so exceptional, folks want to return again and again.”

PFEIFER REALTY GROUP WELCOMES NEW AGENT
The Pfeifer Realty Group recently announced that Carter Smith has joined the team.
A Fort Myers native, Smith attended Florida State University, where he obtained an undergraduate degree in international relations with a concentration in intelligence policy. In college, he also played Division I baseball and played in the 2019 Baseball College World Series.
Growing up in Fort Myers provided Smith with local knowledge of the communities, beaches and flat-fishing spots in Southwest Florida. He values the area and the lifestyle it provides.
