Biography on sailing school owners to publish
Offshore Sailing School founders and owners Steve and Doris Colgate’s biography, “OFFSHORE High,” will debut in October. Published by Seapoint Books & Media, it was written by author and Cruising World magazine Executive Editor Herb McCormick. The 288-page book is filled with decades of stories and over 170 photos covering the couple’s individual upbringings, to racing and industry accomplishments. Founded in 1964 by Olympian, America’s Cup Sailor and National Sailing Hall of Fame inductee Steve Colgate, the Offshore Sailing School has a location at the South Seas Island Resort on Captiva. Doris Colgate joined him in running the company in 1969.
