Lee County reported that the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp, located in Fort Myers near the Sanibel Causeway toll booth, will close temporarily from July 26-29 for parking lot improvements.

The ramp will reopen on July 30, weather permitting.

Patch work began on July 14, but the ramp is remaining open during the process.

The Punta Rassa ramp is the Lee County Parks & Recreation Department’s most-used boat ramp, according to officials. Signs have been posted to alert boaters about the upcoming closure.

During the lot project, the Lee County Parking Sticker will be honored at the city of Sanibel’s boat ramp, so boaters with the county sticker have the option to pay the toll and use that ramp without paying a meter fee. The Sanibel ramp is located across the Causeway at 888 Sextant Drive, Sanibel.

Lee County parking fees are $10 for 24 hours, $20 for 48 hours or $30 for 72 hours. Boaters can purchase an annual parking sticker online at www.leeparks.org or by calling 239-533-7275.

The Punta Rassa Boat Ramp is at 15001 Punta Rassa Road, Fort Myers.
