GOSS GRADUATES FROM FURMAN

Oliver Goss, of Sanibel, graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts in politics and international affairs.

Six hundred fifteen students graduated in the Class of 2021. University President Elizabeth Davis presided over the commencement exercises on May 8 at the Paladin Stadium on campus.

Goss is the son of Chauncey and Allison Goss.

HEIDRICK GRADUATES FROM EMERSON

Sarah Heidrick, of Sanibel, graduated in December from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre education and performance.

During the 141st commencement exercises, over 950 undergraduate degrees and over 470 graduate degrees were awarded for the Class of 2021 on May 2 at Fenway Park in Massachusetts and virtually on May 9. The Class of 2020 graduates were honored in an additional ceremony on May 2 at Fenway.

Former President Lee Pelton gave the commencement address at Fenway, and Emmy-nominated writer, producer and alum Stefani Robinson delivered the address for the virtual ceremony. Both ceremonies featured remarks by former President Lee Pelton and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Michaele Whelan, student speeches and awards, video montages and recognition of each graduate.

SIMONS EARNS DEAN’S LIST HONORS

Rylee Simons, of Sanibel, earned spring Dean’s List honors at the University of Tampa.

Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the list.

TOWLE NAMED ON DEAN’S LIST

Carson Towle, of Sanibel, was named to the spring Dean’s List at Tallahassee Community College.
