The Sanibel Police Department reported that while the exact path and impacts from Hurricane Elsa are unknown, and out of an abundance of caution, the Emergency Management Division will be open on July 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to issue hurricane re-entry passes to those who have not previously been issued one.

The address verification being provided with the pass application must show one of the following matching the address provided: driver’s license, vehicle registration, voter registration, utility bill or screenshot from Lee County Property Appraiser via https://leepa.org/Search/PropertySearch.aspx.

The city is reusing the 2016 purple (residential) and tan (commercial) 2016 passes for 2021. People already issued those passes do not need to apply for a hurricane re-entry pass.
