The Shell Point Retirement Community announced the opening of the Neuropsychiatric Research Center of Southwest Florida — Shell Point. Partnering with the Neuropsychiatric Research Center of Southwest Florida, the outpatient research facility in the Larsen Pavilion will conduct high-quality clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders.

During an open house in May, attendees toured the site and met Dr. Vinod K. Bhatnagar, who will lead a team of board-certified physicians that includes Dr. Wendy Bond and Dr. Andrew J. Cutler. They will offer cutting-edge research opportunities and education for Shell Point residents and the community.

As part of its diversification of central nervous system disease trials, NPRC — Shell Point will also offer an in-patient unit to serve volunteers who desire to participate in clinical research trials and fight back against Alzheimer’s, memory loss and other central nervous system disorders. The research will also branch into chronic conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular conditions and more.
