CROW The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife's Wildlife Walk guided hospital tours provide an opportunity for visitors to get an in-depth look into the inner workings of CROW's hospital and the treatment process of over 5,000 wildlife patients each year.

The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife’s AWC Visitor Education Center on Sanibel resumed offering its Wildlife Walk guided hospital tours and daily presentations to visitors today, June 1.

“It has been a long time, but we are thrilled to be able to offer our most popular programs once again in a way that is safe for our guests, staff and animals,” CROW Executive Director Alison Charney Hussey said.

Visitors to the center, including those participating in the hospital tours, are required to wear masks covering their nose and mouth.

“Our animals and patients are not able to wear masks, so we ask that you wear one for their safety as well as the safety of others who are visiting,” Hussey said.

The tours provide an opportunity for visitors to get an in-depth look into the inner workings of CROW’s hospital and the treatment process of over 5,000 wildlife patients each year. The hour and a half program has two parts: a daily presentation in the center, followed by a guided tour through treatment areas of the hospital. Up-close experiences with Animal Ambassadors are included.

The tours are offered Monday through Friday at 12:30 p.m. Each tour will be limited to eight people and advanced registration is required. Cost is $25 and includes general admission to the center. The program is open to all, but it is not recommended for children under 13. The tours will be subject to modification or cancellation based on animals being treated in the hospital.

Daily presentations are offered Monday through Friday at 12:30 p.m. and include topics such as “Birds of Prey,” “Virginia Opossums,” “Gopher Tortoises” and “Why Animals Come to CROW.” They are included with general admission to the center, and advanced registration is not required to attend them.

The AWC Visitor Education Center is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

General admission is $12 for adults, $7 for ages 4-12 and free for ages 3 and under.
