The Shell Islands Garden Club donated $1,000 this year to the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation’s Native Landscapes & Garden Center intern program. It helps fund operational expenses for interns who gain hands-on experience from their time working at the center at SCCF’s Bailey Homestead on Sanibel. Part of the club’s mission is “to help conserve natural resources and to promote environmental responsibility.” The Shell Islands Garden Club did not meet during the past year, but plans are being made to resume a regular meeting schedule in the fall. It meets on the second Tuesday of each month from October through May. For more information, visit www.sanibelgardenclub.org.
