Dozens of friends, choir and music committee members, longtime associates, clergy and other fans of Dr. Elwood Smith gathered on April 25 on the outdoor patio at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ on Sanibel to thank him for his 20 years of service as the music director. They shared stories about Smith and presented him with cards and gifts, including certificates to BIG ARTS and Barbara B. Mann, as well as to Seraphic Fire concerts. Members of the music committee arranged the reception and served beverages and cupcakes decorated in a musical theme.
