The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife will host its virtual “Southern Comfort on Sanibel” on April 23 at 7 p.m., with everyone invited to tune in and take part from the comfort of their home.

The evening will enable CROW to continue to serve sick, injured native and migratory wildlife of Southwest Florida. The event will feature Animal Ambassadors and “never before seen” footage of the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam eagles while they were under CROW’s care. Evening activities will include a live and silent auction along with other fun surprises.

“We are so excited about the evening we’ve planned for everyone,” Executive Director Alison Charney Hussey said. “It promises to be a darn good time as well as so very important to CROW’s mission. I’m thrilled we are able to extend Southern Comfort beyond the islands, allowing everyone to participate and get a glimpse of what we’ve been doing lately.”

The link to view the live event can be found the day of at www.CROWClinic.org. Pre-show begins at 6:45 pm. Tune in from a computer, laptop or tablet early to get some pre-event information and learn to make the signature “Southern Mule” cocktail — using only Southern Comfort, ginger beer and a lime.

The live auction will include experiences such as a craft cocktail class for 10 at Cielo with mixologist Greg Baldia, a “Bird’s-Eye” view of Sanibel for the winner and two guests in a private plane, a round of golf for four with lunch at The Sanctuary Golf Club, trips to Mexico and the Georgia mountains, and dinners with a CROW veterinarian and Hussey. The silent auction items will include more golf, fishing trips, themed baskets, wildlife art, jewelry and more.

Bidding for the auction items is “easy peasy” and already available for bids. View the items and place bids by simply texting “CROW” to 71760 on your mobile device. Click the link and enter your name. Participants can mark items they want to watch, set an auto bid so they do not have to keep checking back and get a text when they have been outbid. Bidding will conclude during the April 23 live stream.

“The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is honored to be the headline sponsor for this year’s Southern Comfort fundraising event,” wealth advisor and Executive Vice President Robin L. Cook said. “CROW’s mission to educate, and rehabilitate our area’s wildlife is critical to the well being of our islands. It is our belief that when residents and business come together to support organizations like CROW, our shared mission helps our community thrive.”
