2 min read

To commemorate National Parkinson’s Awareness Month, Hope Parkinson Program is offering a virtual education event in partnership with Lee Health Rehabilitation Services to share tips and tricks to help manage symptoms of the disease.

Designed for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s and their care partners, the interactive Zoom event on April 14 at 11 a.m. will feature a panel of Lee Health Rehabilitation Services’ speech and swallowing, physical, and occupational therapists. The hour-long event will include opportunities to ask questions of the experts about mobility, balance, and activities of daily living.

The free event is open to the public. Preregistration is required by emailing PDevents@HopeHCS.org or calling 239-425-9886. One-on-one assistance is available in advance for individuals who need help learning how to access the virtual event from their computer, tablet or phone.

The Hope Parkinson Program works closely with like-minded community organizations to provide a network of resources and education for people affected by Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. After launching in 2009, the program has enabled nearly 4,000 people in Lee County to experience the fullness of life through knowledge, movement and fellowship. As a community service provided by Hope Healthcare, it is offered at no charge to participants and care partners.
