Virtual tasting to highlight selections from Italian winery
Bailey’s General Store will offer a free Virtual Wine Tasting on March 31.
Franco Zamboli, Florida manager with Antinori, will join Bailey’s wine steward Calli Johnson to talk about Antinori Conte Della Vipera Sauvignon Blanc and Antinori Guado Al Tasso Cont’Ugo Merlot.
Produced from a selection of sauvignon blanc and sémillon, the Antinori Conte Della Vipera Sauvignon Blanc will be paired with Sanibel Catering Company Chef Karl Hamme’s signature grilled chicken spiedies, cocktail naan bread, and chimichurri. Produced as a new interpretation of the Bolgheri territory with deep complex notes, the Antinori Guado Al Tasso Cont’Ugo Merlot will be paired with Sicilian grilled swordfish kabobs with charred grape tomatoes, roasted peppers and onions.
“While these single varietals of wine are often found in other areas of the world, it is uncommon for an Italian producer to bottle a single varietal like these,” Johnson said. “The winery is extremely proud of these particular wines.”
