FORD JOINS RE/MAX OF THE ISLANDS

RE/MAX of the Islands announced that Pegge Ford has joined the company as a sales associate.

She was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Marymount College in Virginia. Prior to moving to Sanibel in the early 1980s, Ford had an exciting career in retail. She has lived and worked in Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, New York City, Chicago and Miami.

Ford later worked at the Island Inn for 22 years, where she rose to chief operating officer and general manager. She moved back into retail after she was offered a position as store manager at the then-new J. McLaughlin clothing store on Sanibel, where she worked for eight years.

Since 2010, Ford has been associated with RE/MAX in a referral capacity. Recently, she decided to take her real estate career to the next level by becoming a full-time Realtor. Ford will work with her friend of 30 years, Deb Stone, who is a long-time sales associate.

PFEIFER MEMBERS INDUCTED INTO HONOR SOCIETY

The Pfeifer Realty Group reported that only 10.6 percent of the Sanibel-Captiva Realtors in the MLS were inducted this year into the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors’ Honor Society — 24 out of 226 active agents and brokers.

Of the select group, 25 percent of the inductees were from Pfeifer. They are Greg Demaras, Kelly Huguenin, Wendy Kirschner, Cathie Lewis, Kerri Maw and Eric Pfeifer.

SUNDIAL ACHIEVES SAFETY ACCREDITATION

Sundial Beach Resort & Spa recently announced that it achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s STAR accreditation, which verifies that the resort has implemented stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention.

STAR helps organizations establish protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. The program validates that best practices are implemented to prepare for, prevent and respond to pandemics, including COVID-19.

To achieve accreditation, Sundial was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.
