The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society will host Dr. Lisa Korte for a Webinar program, “Wetland Conservation at Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary,” on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

As the director of the sanctuary, she will use her expertise in tropical forests and biodiversity to take participants on a virtual walk on and off the boardwalk at the Corkscrew Swamp. Korte will also give an update on current wetland conservation and wetland education activities at the sanctuary.

Korte started her tenure as director in 2019 after spending eight years managing natural resources activities in west and central Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in zoology from Michigan State University, master’s degree in wildlife ecology and conservation from the University of Florida and bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. Dedicated to the conservation of wildlands and wildlife, Korte loves leading land management, science and education activities at the sanctuary.

This is the fifth of eight Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Webinars to be held this season. To register, up to five days before the program visit www.san-capaudubon.org/programs.html and click on “JOIN” in the description. A Zoom link for the program will be emailed to you. All are always welcome to join.
