The America’s Boating Club of Sanibel-Captiva held a toy drive on Dec. 11 at the pavilion on the Sanibel Causeway Islands. Unable to hold its traditional Holiday Dinner Dance, it got creative about how to collect toys for the Heights Foundation — a 20-plus year tradition. The result was a Cookie Caravan of Giving. With the pavilion decked out in tinsel and stockings, members drove-by and one of Santa’s helpers would collect the donations. Meanwhile a second helper — using a fishing pole — passed the donor a bag of Christmas cookies as a thank you.
