Island refuge serves as inspiration

Following in the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge’s footsteps, the Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Complex & Nature Center on Big Pine Key recently wrapped its restroom stalls with inspirational and educational wildlife messaging. Supervisory Refuge Ranger Toni Westland, who led the Sanibel refuge’s 2018 America’s Best Restroom project, assisted the Keys’ staff with their own beautification. She reported, “My goal is to have every bathroom stall wrapped in the southeast region done before I retire.”
