Lee County has 17,451 confirmed cases of COVID-19 – 17,153 Florida residents and 298 non-residents – including 44 cases between Sanibel and Captiva, according to the Florida Department of Health.
As of today’s update, the DOH reported that there are 576,094 confirmed cases in Florida. There are 570,024 cases involving Florida residents and 6,070 cases of non-residents. Based on the tests reported, the state has a positively rate of 13 percent. There are 9,539 recorded deaths among Florida residents, giving the state a death rate of 1.7 percent.
In Lee County, there have been 119,200 tests given to Florida residents, with 17,153 testing positive and 101,990 testing negative. Additionally, 32 cases are awaiting testing and 57 tests were inconclusive. Based on the tests reported, the county has a positively rate of 14 percent.
Also, the DOH reported that there are 375 recorded deaths among Florida residents for Lee County. Based on the deaths reported, the county has a death rate of 2.2 percent.
