Trouper the Raccoon paid a visit to the Children’s Education Center of the Islands’ summer camp for its “Sensing Nature” week. During the week, participants explored and investigated their five senses outdoors. Trouper arrived when they were learning about their sense of sight. The campers were able to learn about what makes Trouper so special and how he had become blind. The children were interested and amazed by him. Trouper’s abilities shed light on teaching youth empathy skills, officials reported.
