The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, will present the following:

Current Events

Current Events will meet on July 30 at 1 p.m. Talk about what is happening locally, nationally and throughout the world. Moderated by Tommy Williams. Attendees will follow CDC guidelines; masks will be required and social distancing practiced. Suggested donation of $5.

Kids Cooking Camp

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will host a Kids Cooking Camp from Aug. 3-7 from 10 a.m. to noon. Plant-based meals, “celiac power” gluten free meals, vegetarian varieties, vegan snacks and gluten-free and dairy-free desserts will be offered. Mask will be required in common areas; physically distancing will be in place, with no food shared. Cost is $30 per day.

Blood Drive

The Lee Health Blood Mobile will conduct a Blood Drive on Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot.

In addition, there are “Camp to Go Shell Critter” kits available for $20 each; add an extra $8 for shipping. Choose four out of 13 critters to assemble. There is also a “Camp to Go Art” kit available for $20. Eight different postcards to color and zentangle; sharpie and educational video link included.

For beginners and intermediates, the class puts a different twist on shells and recreating their image with watercolors. Open to ages 12 and older. A Community Shredding event will be held on July 18 from 9 a.m. to noon in the north lot. Shred documents, credit card receipts, checks, CD/DVD and more. Remove large paperclips and binder clips; staples and small paper clips can stay. Those bringing more than four boxes or bags must call ahead. Cost is $5 per box or bag.
