Fall Family Festival, Candy Carnival
The Fall Family Festival and Candy Carnival will take place on Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Open to all, admission is a bag or two of candy per family. There will be games, prizes and a hayride, plus costume contests. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Sponsorships and candy donations are currently being accepted.

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will host a Culinary Social on Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. The theme is “Pastas.” Cost is $25 for members or $30 for non-members.

Painting with Friends
Painting with Friends will be held on Nov. 13 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person.
SCA Volunteer Event
The Sanibel Community Association’s Welcome Back Volunteer Training and Breakfast will take place on Nov. 15 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Those interested in volunteering are welcome to attend. In particular, the SCA is looking for people with food and beverage experience who can work in the kitchen once or twice a month and those who can work and water in the garden.

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will host a Culinary Hands On Workshop on Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is “Knife Skills and Meat.” Cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.
Climate Presentation
Ariel Hoover, chair of the Lee County Climate Reality Project, will present “Climate Change and Health” on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
A former public school teacher at Tufts University in a special program for Chinese students, she was trained by the Climate Reality Project on the many aspects of climate change and is part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
Community Social
A Community Social will take place on Nov. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m., with the theme of “British Pub Night.” The menu will feature: tomato and basil soup, coronation chicken salad, and chicken liver pate with pickles and chutney for starters; and fish and chips, bangers and mash, beef and stout pie, roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables for the main dishes. For a $5 donation, the desserts will include sticky toffee pudding and an ice cream sundae bar with caramel and chocolate sauces. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door, if seats are available.
The Community House is taking soup and stew orders for pick up in November and December, with the proceeds to benefit children’s scholarships for the Culinary Education Center of Sanibel.

For a $5 donation, the desserts will include an ice cream sundae bar and apple strudel. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
