Sanibel Recreation Center to close for annual maintenance
The Sanibel Recreation Center will be closed from now through Aug. 11 to complete numerous maintenance projects, with the facility set to reopen on Aug. 12.
Some of the improvements will include painting the pool deck, converting to LED lights in the gymnasium, deep cleaning of facility and weight room equipment preventative maintenance.
All major projects have been scheduled during this time in an effort to minimize the inconvenience to patrons as many of the projects are odiferous and disruptive.
The Youth Summer Camp program will not be offered the week that the facility is closed. Youth programming will resume with the After School Program on Aug. 12 for kindergarten through eighth grade. The program runs from 2:10 to 5:30 p.m. Now through Aug. 9, registration will be available at the Center 4 Life from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Center 4 Life, at 2401 Library Way, offers fitness classes throughout the week that are included for Sanibel Recreation Center members and are only $10 for non-members.
Beach parking permits will be available for purchase now through Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Center 4 Life. When applying for a permit, remember to bring a valid vehicle registration for each vehicle and a valid state issued identification or driver’s license. Payment may be made via cash, check, MasterCard, American Express or Visa.
