Registration open for Youth Fall Basketball League
The Sanibel Recreation Center will host a Youth Fall Basketball League for both boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade, with an additional Tiny Tots division for 3- and 4-year-olds.
Co-sponsored by the Sanibel-Captiva Optimist Club, Captiva Cruises and the city of Sanibel, the league gives children an opportunity to learn the fundamentals while experiencing game play.
The K-8 season starts on Aug. 16 at 5 p.m.
Fourth through eighth grade will practice on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.; kindergarten through third grade will practice on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Games will be held on Fridays between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
The Tiny Tots will be held on Saturdays beginning Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m.
The fee is $46 for members and $60 for non-members per child.
Volunteers are needed for coaching, team parents, scorekeepers and referees.
