Rabbi to explore minor prophets in series
Rabbi Stephen Fuchs will offer a three-part class titled “Minor in Name Only” on Feb. 14, 21 and 28 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, at 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The course will explore the role played in Jewish thought and practice by the so-called “Twelve Minor Prophets” in the Bible. The Prophets to be discussed are: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. Fuchs explained that they are called “minor” because their literary record – the length of their books – is shorter than “major” prophets. There is no cost to attend.
